American Bulldog

These are the most common inherited illnesses in the American Bulldog.  American Bulldogs can inherit other illnesses beyond these, but these are the most prevalent.  If you are thinking of breeding American Bulldogs, please speak with your veterinarian about potential tests that should be done to avoid congenital disorders in offspring. 

It's a sad story that plays out over and over and over again.  A 3 year old girl in Ocala, Florida entered the pen of 4 American Bull Dogs at Haaker's Dream Bulldog Ranch and was bit and mauled by a male dog.  All four dogs were chained at the time and it is unclear what provoked the attack but we cant help but think that potentially people with small children need to educate their children better on how to behave around dogs and should always supervise them.
