The Australian Terrier is a short stocky dog that is alert confident and easy going. They are adaptable to most living environments and were originally used as rodent and snake control. They are a member of the AKC Terrier Group.

These are the most common inherited illnesses in Australian Terriers.  Australian Terriers can inherit other illnesses beyond these, but these are the most prevalent.  If you are thinking of breeding Australian Terriers please speak with your veterinarian about potential tests that should be done to avoid congenital disorders in offspring.
