Children

Learning to read is difficult and some children have a harder time than others.  Programs like the Delta Society have found that having animals around can actually help children, particularly those with disabilities, learn.  The thought is that having the presence of a dog is calming allowing children to focus more on the task at hand.  Many libraries and schools are now taking heed and bringing dogs in for special reading times.  If it works so well for them why not try it at home.
