Are Our Drug Dogs Doing A Good Job?

The Chicago Tribune did a study of suburban law enforcement drug sniffing dogs and found that in just 44% of searches triggered by the dogs actual drugs or paraphernalia was found.  The report also said that that number declined to 27% with Hispanics.  Are our drug dogs racial profiling?

"If you don't train, you can't be confident in your dog," said Alex Rothacker, who works with dozens of drug-sniffing dogs. "A lot of dogs don't train. A lot of dogs aren't good."

 We know the capabilities of a dogs nose is amazing so clearly there must be some human error and lack of training.
