Great Idea For Herding Breeds: Find A Farm To Let Them Herd Sheep

If a dog is left without a job or proper exercise she can quickly turn to destruction and bad behavior! The best exercise for your breed of dog is always what comes naturally.  For herding dogs the best exercise and mental stimulation is actually herding and some farmers are picking up on this!

Fido Farms is one such farm that has realized the need and created services to help dogs do what they do best.  The farm allows owners to bring out their dogs and let them herd up their animals for a small fee.  Offering dogs free run of a herd for a day at the cost of $15 for ducks or sheep, $20 for ducks & sheep and $25 for cattle when available.  In addition they offer lessons in herding for dogs that are new to the game and evaluations for dogs that have been at it for a while.

We can't think of a better way to exercise your herding breed!  If you don't live in Washington maybe you have a farm near by that would let your dog play with their sheep. . . it is worth a try!
