AAA Survey - Dangerous Driving With Dogs

 A new survey by AAA of 1000 drivers found that 80% of drivers have driven with their pets however only 17% use pet restraint systems.  Not only can this be dangerous if a dog distracts the driver by jumping in their lap it can be a safety concern if the dog attempts to exit the vehicle out an open window.  In addition in a 50 mph accident a 10-lb dog will exert 500 lbs of pressure meaning it could be deadly to you, your dog and anyone else involved.
