Training

"Go Potty" is our favorite command by far.  One of our dogs gets it and the rest do not.  That said, if your dog gets this command it will make your life so much easier!  The goal is to teach your dog to potty on command, and to those who do not believe it can be done, we are here to tell you it can be done!  For all training we recommend you start by reading MetroSniff's 5 Cs Of Training - A Foundation before you get going.

We use the "off" command to get our dogs off of someone or something like the couch.  Some people use "down" to get the same result.  The verbal command is less important than teaching your dog the lesson.  So, when choosing the right command for your dog, pick something that fits your style and stick with it.     Make sure you start training by reading MetroSniff's 5 Cs of Dog Training - A Foundation.

This command is for training your dog to drop, ignore or walk away from something.  It can be used when he is about to get into trouble, steal a cookie, sniff a snake, approach an aggressive dog, pretty much any situation where you want your dog to leave something alone.
